Severe weather is to blame for a train derailment northeast of Wichita.

BNSF railroad officials say winds from a severe storm caused yesterday morning’s derailment in Matfield Green.

More than 20 cars on the Texas-bound train left the tracks, but most of them were empty and no hazardous materials crews were needed.

No injuries were reported.
