Salina Skating Rink Closing

KSAL StaffMay 9, 2019

An entertainment business which has been in Salina for nearly six decades is closing. The first skate at the Starlite Skate Center in Salina was back in December 1963. The final skate will be in May of 2019.

Starlite announced via social media they are closing.

“It is a bittersweet day as we announce forthcoming closing of the Starlite Skate Center in Salina. The Starlite has been a Salina fixture since December of 1963. We have seen many of our skaters grow up and bring their kids, and grandkids, out to enjoy the rollin’ fun that they had experienced in the past. Many memories fill our minds and hearts. Many friends that were made over the years. Friends that will not be forgotten. We are sad to be closing this chapter in our lives, but look forward to quality time spent with our family and friends in the future. Our final skate session will take place on Saturday evening, May 25, 2019. Come and join us during the remaining weeks for, as we’ve always said, Rollin’ Fun for Everyone.”

A car wash will be built on the property once the skating rink closes.
