KSAL StaffAugust 14, 2016

A Salina man was hurt in a weekend crash on a motorcycle near Gypsum.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 46-year-old Michael Becker was riding a Yamaha motorcycle, headed east on 5th Street in Gypsum. As the motorcycle approached the city flood control levee, it failed to stop at a chain fence. The bike struck the chain gate, causing it to lose control.

Becker, who was not wearing a helmet, was injured in the crash. He was transported by EMS to the hospital in Salina.

The crash happened Saturday evening, just east of Gypsum in 5th Street.
