Salina Man Ejected in Rollover Crash

KSAL StaffApril 16, 2019

A rollover accident near Assaria sends two Salina men to the hospital.

According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, 30-year-old Jared Oehlert was driving a 1997 Ford Ranger northbound in the 6500 block S. Woodward Road when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled ejecting his passenger.

Deputies say 26-year-old Dylan Stevens of Salina suffered back and chest injuries in the crash and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center and then onto a Wichita hospital for treatment.

Authorities say Stevens was alert and verbal with hospital staff Tuesday morning in Wichita. Oehlert was also rushed to the hospital in Salina to be treated for cuts plus back and shoulder injuries.

Deputies say neither man was wearing a seat belt and that speed was a factor in the crash that destroyed the truck.

The accident occurred at 2:15pm about a half mile north of K-4 Highway on S. Woodward Road.
