The Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan warns against driving over flooded roads. “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”

Due to heavy rains many roads have been heavily damaged and many still have large amounts of water flowing over them.

On Friday night at 5:00 a 60-year-old man from Gypsum ignored the road signs warning against traveling down Donmyer Rd.(Image Above).  When the man saw water covering the road he slammed on the brakes and landed in a ditch.

The front end and undercarriage of the 1996 Black Volkswagen Jetta sustained a fair amount of damage. The driver was not harmed.

The man was taken into custody and is facing charges including: DUI, No Proof of Insurance, Transporting an Open Container, Improper Driving on a Lined Roadway, and Disobeying a Traffic Control Device
