A motorcycle rider was thrown from his bike and hurt after missing a tight turn in Gypsum Saturday afternoon around 4pm.

Deputies with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office say 50-year-old Peter Smucker missed a turn from K-4 onto Gypsum Valley Road and lost control.

He was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center with a cut to his face.

Officers say he was wearing a helmet on the bike.
