The Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League I has settled into the midst of the 2025 spring seasons with Salina South, Derby, Hutchinson and Maize South making their names for themselves in different and multiple sports.
The AVCTL I saw its first intra-league soccer matches on Tuesday with Salina South, Derby and Hutchinson all emerging with AVCTL I victories to sit atop the league midway through the season.
The Derby Lady Panthers still lead the AVCTL I soccer standings as the Lady Panthers are 8-1 overall and 1-0 in AVCTL I action while Salina South and Hutchinson both sit at 6-3 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Salina South and Hutchinson lead the AVCTL I baseball standings with identical 4-2 AVCTLI records as the Cougars have a 9-3 overall record while the Salt Hawks are 8-5 overall.
Maize South continues to lead the AVCTL I softball standings as the Lady Mavericks are the lone AVCTL I team, in any sport, still protecting an undefeated record as the Lady Mavericks are 16-0, 6-0 this season. The Derby Lady Panthers are 2nd in the AVCTL I softball standings with a 12-4, 3-1 record while Salina South sits in 5th place with a 12-4, 3-3 record.

CAMPUS
The Lady Colt softball team swept Hutchinson 19-3, and 5-1 on Tuesday. … The Colt baseball team defeated Circle 7-6 in a single game on Monday. … The Lady Colt soccer team lost 4-3 against Mulvane on Thursday. The Lady Colts lost 3-1 against Salina South on Tuesday.
DERBY
The Lady Panther softball team went 1-1 on Thursday on the opening day of the Dodge City tournament as they defeated Hays 12-1 but lost 1-0 against Garden City. The Lady Panthers went 2-0 in the Dodge City tournament on Friday, defeating Dodge City 18-0 and Great Bend 5-0. The Lady Panthers split a pair of games at McPherson on Tuesday as they defeated Emporia 10-0 but lost 5-0 against McPherson. … The Panther baseball team lost 15-0 against Blue Valley Southwest on Thursday in the Bishop Carroll tournament. The Panthers defeated Blue Valley West 9-6 in the tournament on Saturday. The Panthers swept Newton 9-1 and 11-7 on Tuesday. … The Lady Panther soccer team lost 2-1 in double overtime against Eisenhower on Thursday. The Lady Panthers defeated Maize 1-0 on Tuesday.
HUTCHINSON
The Lady Salt Hawk softball team swept a doubleheader against Wichita Heights on Thursday, winning 16-0 and 13-1. The Lady Salt Hawks were swept 19-3 and 5-1 by Campus on Tuesday. … The Salt Hawk baseball team defeated Andover Central 19-6 in a single game on Thursday. … The Lady Salt Hawk soccer team lost 3-1 on Thursday against Andover. The Lady Salt Hawks defeated Valley Center 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday.
MAIZE
The Lady Eagle softball team won both games of a triangular on Thursday as they defeated Andale 15-6 and Andover 14-4. The Lady Eagles split a doubleheader with Salina South on Tuesday, winning the opener 5-4, but losing the second game 10-6. …. The Eagle baseball team defeated Andover Central 3-1 in a single game on Wednesday. The Eagles defeated Blue Valley West 3-0 on Friday in the Bishop Carroll tournament. The Eagles were swept 5-1 and 5-0 by Salina South on Tuesday. … The Lady Eagle soccer team defeated Newton 6-0 on Thursday. The Lady Eagles lost 1-0 against Derby on Tuesday.
MAIZE SOUTH
The Lady Maverick softball team won both games on Thursday on the opening day of the Dodge City tournament with a 20-0 victory against Dodge City and an 11-0 win against Great Bend. The Lady Mavericks went 2-0 in the Dodge City tournament on Friday as they defeated Hays 12-0 and Garden City 17-0. The Lady Mavericks swept Valley Center 2-0 and 6-2 on Tuesday. … The Maverick baseball team swept Valley Center 8-7 and 12-1 on Tuesday. … The Lady Maverick soccer team defeated Hays 11-3 on Thursday. SALINA SOUTH
The Lady Cougar softball team swept Salina Central 4-2 and 6-3 on Friday. The Lady Cougars split a doubleheader with Maize High on Tuesday, losing the opener 5-4 but winning the second game 10-6. … The Cougar baseball team split a doubleheader with Salina Central on Friday, losing the first game 1-0 but rebounding and winning the second game 2-1. The Cougars swept Maize High 5-1 and 5-0 on Tuesday. … The Lady Cougar soccer team lost 1-0 in overtime against McPherson on Thursday. The Lady Cougars defeated Campus 3-1 on Tuesday.
VALLEY CENTER
The Lady Hornet softball team split a doubleheader with Arkansas City on Thursday, losing the first game 6-3 but rebounding and winning the second game 3-1. The Lady Hornets were swept 2-0 and 6-2 by Maize South on Tuesday. … The Hornet baseball team swept Arkansas City 11-0 and 6-4 on Thursday. The Hornets were swept 8-7 and 12-1 by Maize South on Tuesday. … The Lady Hornet soccer team lost 3-0 against Andover Central on Thursday.
