Authorities were investigating in a rural area of Dickinson County Monday after what appeared to be human remains were discovered.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is assisting Dickinson County authorities, including the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, in an investigation.
A spokesperson from the KBI told KSAL News that possible human remains were discovered Sunday afternoon. The remains were found in a wooded area, in the area of 2500 Road and Game Road.
The KBI crime scene vehicle responded to the location. Agents and deputies were working the scene throughout the day Monday.
Officials are working to positively identify that the remains are human, and to identify the person.
