Police Look For Smashing Slasher

A currently unknown suspect is responsible for multiple damaged vehicles.

Salina Police Department Captain Paul Forrester told KSAL News:

On the 22nd between 6:30 PM and 10:00 AM on the 23rd  someone allegedly slashed the rear tires and broke the rear windshield of a 2007 Ford Mustang causing $900 in damages. The car was parked in a driveway in the 1200 block of south 9th St.

A 2012 Honda Civic was also parked in the same driveway. The rear windshield was broken and both drivers side tires were slashed causing an estimated $800 in damages.

“The report said it appeared the tires were slashed with some kind of hatchet” – Captain Forrester.

In a related case:

On the 23rd between 2:00 & 8:00 AM in the 1400 block of Pershing St. both driver’s side tires on a 2015 Ford F150 appeared to have been punctured by a screwdriver. The estimated damage is approximately $500.

A 2014 Buick Enclave was parked in the same driveway. The taillights and back windshield were smashed and the left rear tire was slashed by what appeared to be some kind of hatchet. Estimated damage is approximately $1,600.

Both cases are currently under investigation.
