A Tuesday evening incident at a Minneapolis assisted living facility is under investigation.

Ottawa County Sheriff Deputies and Minneapolis Police Officers responded to an altercation at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center.

The Minneapolis Police Department tells KSAL News that a patient was taken into mental protective custody to prevent them from harming themselves or others. The patient, whose name was not released due to HIPPA rules, was transported to Salina Regional Health Center via ambulance.

According to the department there was force used, but Minneapolis Police Officers did not use any special munitions or electronic weapons.

The use of force is under investigation. There are no charges at this time, but that is also under investigation.
