Kansas Wesleyan University will begin renovations this month to its grandstands at the newly constructed Graves Family Sports Complex. The renovations include replacing the mill finish aluminum deck system with an anodized aluminum deck system.
The aluminum that was delivered for the grandstand project was not anodized. GT Grandstands, the manufacturer, agreed to upgrade the deck to an anodized system after the fall sports season was completed at no additional cost to the university. GT Grandstands, will begin work this month. Greg Buckner, vice president and general manager, believes the new planks will be beneficial for the complex.
“Anodization of the deck will enhance the appearance of the new grandstand to be more consistent with the rest of the upgrades at the sports complex. While the current deck is apt and functional, the addition of anodized deck planks will be an upgrade suitable for such a modern complex,” Buckner commented.
The project is expected to be completed by March 31.
