Kingdom Jam to Raise Roof, Funds

Thirteen area bands will join forces this Sunday – to share a message of hope and to raise awareness about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Pastor Ron Bowell from Crossroads Church in Salina joined in on the KSAL Morning News Friday with a look at the event.

He also told the audience about the heartbreak of losing his grandson, Zane to SIDS. “It’s just one of those things that takes the breath out of you, even as a grandparent,” he said.

“It’s kind of mysterious disease, they really don’t know why babies just stop breathing.”

Kingdom Jam is this Sunday, January 10th from 1pm to 5:30pm with a 13 band lineup including: CrossRoads Band, New Community, P-98 Christ the King, Emmanuel Band, Higher Praise, Church of the Cross, LifeHouse, Tony Bowell, New Trail Fellowship, Freedom 724, Aliento De Vida, Sagebrush and Jeffro and the Heroes.

The event will also feature informational videos about SIDS, contemporary Christian music, fee prize drawings, popcorn and soft drinks.

Pastor Bowell added that admission is free with an opportunity to give an offering to SIDS research.

CrossRoads Church is located at 1125 W. South Street, just south of Ace Hardware in Salina.
