An Army soldier from Kansas has been killed in action while serving in Iraq.

According to the Department of Defense, 26-year-old Sgt. Christina Marie Schoenecker died on Monday in Baghdad. She died from a non-combat related incident.

Schoenecker was assigned to the 89th Sustainment Brigade, Wichita. She was from Arlington, Kansas.

The incident is under investigation.
