Injury Accident on Old 81 Highway

A two-car crash south of Salina sent a Jetmore woman to the hospital on Tuesday.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that the crash occurred at the intersection of Old 81 Highway and Waterwell Rd. at 12:34 p.m. on Tuesday.

A 2017 Dodge Caravan was traveling eastbound on Waterwell, when the driver failed to yield at the stop sign and struck a 2015 Lincoln MKC SUV that was traveling north on Old 81.

The driver of the Lincoln, 62-year-old Brenda Macnair, Jetmore, Kan., complained of pain in her wrist and to other parts of her body. She was sent to Salina Regional Health Center by EMS.

The driver of the Dodge, 61-year-old Kim Biery, Hutchinson, was uninjured. She was cited for failure to yield.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
