An infant is dead after being found in a hot vehicle in Butler County.

Authorities say the three-month-old girl was found unresponsive on Saturday after being left unattended in a vehicle east of Meadowlark Road on Southwest 160th.

The girl’s mother told deputies she had arrived home and took a nap before realizing she had left the baby in the car.

The incident is under investigation.
