Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is blaming lawmakers for the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kelly noted that 34 other states have a statewide mask mandate, but Kansas has a “patchwork” of coronavirus regulations with each county deciding on their response.

The Kansas Legislature approved a bill this past June that stripped the governor of her ability to implement statewide mandates.
