Flags Lowered For St. John’s Students

Flags will be lowered in Salina to honor three students who were killed in a car crash.

Governor Sam Brownback has ordered flags in Saline County to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down on Thursday this week, to honor the students who were killed in a crash last week.

St. John’s Military School Cadets Jake Whitting, John Yoder, and A.J. Ricketts died in a single-vehicle crash near Denver. Whitting had just graduated from St. John’s as class valedictorian. The others were current students.

“Mary and I extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of these young men,” said Governor Brownback. “Our prayers are with the St. John’s Military School family during this time.”
