KSAL StaffMay 10, 2016

Police are looking for a man who allegedly helped himself to some merchandise at a Salina sporting goods store and walked out a back door without paying for it.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney says that a theft happened at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 2450 S. 9th Street, Monday evening between 5:57 and 6:57.

According to Sweeney, a male customer entered the store and gathered up a black Puma ballcap, a Hurley men’s XXL long sleeved shirt, and a Nishika Colorado Mountain Bike. The man then is alleged to have broken a lock on an overhead door at the back of the store, and left with the merchandise.

The suspect is described as a heavy set white male with brown hair, a beard, wearing a red shirt.

Total loss and damage is estimated at $538.
