First New Denver Flight Leaves Salina

As of Wednesday morning, commercial flights are now heading in and out of the Salina Regional Airport.

According to the airport, with the departure of Great Lakes Airlines flight #3021 from the Salina Regional Airport this morning at 7:45 AM, Salina area residents again have access to scheduled air service. The restoration of nonstop flights to the Denver International Airport benefits residents and businesses in Salina, Saline County and North Central Kansas.

The move means connections to United Airlines, Delta Airlines and American Airlines at Denver International Airport.

Great Lakes Airlines is based in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Denver and boasts a fleet of 30-seat turbo prop aircraft with a stand up cabin, flight attendant and lavatory on board.

The flights will be in the air for about an hour and a half. There are two daily flights on weekdays, and one flight daily on Saturday and Sunday.

Schedule and reservations information can be found online at www.flygreatlakes.com or www.united.com. The Great Lakes reservations number is 800-554-5111.
