Fast Car Found Abandoned

KSAL StaffJune 1, 2016

An early morning high speed pursuit in Salina ends after officers find the car abandoned.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that investigators are looking for the driver of a 2007 Pontiac G-6, who led officers on a high speed pursuit that reached speeds of 70 mph.

Police say at 2:51am Wednesday an officer on patrol attempted to make a traffic stop in the 500 block of S. Ohio after seeing the G-6 speed past.

The chase lasted about 4-minutes, winding through residential streets, W. Prescott, S. 4th and Cloud before police found the car abandoned in the lot at Drury Place, 1000 Schippel Drive.

Captain Sweeney says police are now following up with the owner to find out who was driving.
