The Hutchinson Police Department is investigating a dog attack that resulted in an officer having to shoot a dog, and the dog attack victim transported to a hospital.

Police say officers responded to a report of a dog attacking a woman shortly before 1:30 p.m. in front of a home. Officers provided first aid to a female who had significant injuries to both of her legs from the dog attack.

While officers were helping, two dogs appeared and charged them. One of the dogs was shot and injured.
