A Salina woman who was looking for work, is scammed online in a business franchise scheme.

Police say the woman in her 40’s was convinced she was buying a share of a franchise for a nation wide cleaning company – and sent $2,400 to secure the contract.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that over the course of 5 days, the victim sent the money in three installments to GoProContracting in Nicaragua.

She contacted police after receiving a bogus contract in her email.
