Blood Drive Underway

It’s Day Two at the “Pump Up The Volume Blood Drive” at Sunrise Presbyterian Church at Roach and Beloit in Salina.

According to Blood Drive Coordinator Rhonda Smith, donations drop off during the summer time – but the need remains high around Kansas for blood.

Paper work to sign up is faster now too because of technology.

“You can go online to RedCross.org and do your ‘rapid pass’ and cut down 15-minutes of your time to answer a bunch of questions. You get in quicker and get out quicker,” she said.

Along with donating blood, participants can also vote for their favorite local radio station. The winning station will receive a traveling trophy to display for a year.

The 21st annual “Pump Up the Volume” blood drive for the American Red Cross is open Tuesday from Noon to 7pm and Wednesday from 8am to 2pm at the Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 E. Beloit in Salina.
