A second person has joined the race to become the Libertarian candidate for the Kansas governor’s office in 2014.

Keen Umbehr, a 54-year-old lawyer from Alma, filed documents Thursday with the secretary of state’s office to appoint a treasurer for his campaign.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports Tresa McAlhaney, of Bonner Springs, previously announced her bid for governor on a Libertarian ticket.

The nominee selected in an April convention would be added to statewide ballots, and face likely Republican nominee Gov. Sam Brownback.

Umbehr said in a news release he’ll focus on government accountability and transparency if elected governor. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the Kansas House in 2012.
