Aggieville Shooting Early Sunday

One person was arrested following a shooting in Manhattan’s Aggieville Business District early Sunday.

According to Manhattan Police, at about 1:20 in the morning officers on foot patrol heard and responded to the sound of gunshots near the 600 block of N. 12th Street.

Officers gave chase to a suspect, and after using a taser, took the suspect into custody. A handgun was recovered.

One adult male victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound. His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. He was treated and released.

Police do not anticipate any more arrests, but still ask anyone with additional information to contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Names of those involved were not immediately released.
