As teams begin the home stretch of the 2025-26 winter sports season in the North Central Kansas League teams are looking to secure their routines, thus not much changed this past week in the basketball standings.
Rock Creek continues to lead the NCKL boys’ basketball standings with a 15-0, 6-0 record while Concordia is in 2nd at 11-3, 5-1, followed by Clay Center (7-6, 4-3) and Marysville (6-8, 4-3).
Wamego remains atop the NCKL girls’ basketball standings with a 14-2, 6-0 record while Rock Creek is in 2nd at 11-4, 5-1 and Concordia is in 3rd with an 8-6, 4-2 record.

ABILENE
The Cowgirl basketball team lost 56-40 against Chapman on Friday. … The Cowboy basketball team defeated Chapman 57-40 on Friday. … The Cowgirl wrestling team defeated Wamego 39-27 on Thursday. The Cowgirls finished 5th with 104.0 points on Saturday in the Washburn Rural tournament. … The Cowboy wrestling team defeated Wamego 44-30 on Thursday.
CHAPMAN
The Lady Irish basketball team defeated Nickerson 59-20 on Tuesday. The Lady Irish defeated Abilene 56-40 on Friday. … The Fighting Irish boys’ basketball team lost 48-47 against Nickerson on Tuesday. The Irish lost 57-40 against Abilene on Friday. … The Lady Irish wrestling team placed 6th with 99.0 points on Saturday in the Washburn Rural tournament. … The Fighting Irish boys’ wresting team will return to action on Thursday when they compete in an NCKL dual against Wamego.
CLAY CENTER
The Lady Tiger basketball team lost 46-42 against Concordia on Friday. The Lady Tigers lost 54-35 against Hesston on Saturday in the final round of the Hillsboro tournament. … The Tiger boys’ basketball team lost 66-59 against Concordia on Friday. The Tigers lost 53-43 against Riley County on Saturday in the final round of the Hillsboro tournament. … The Lady Tiger wrestling team defeated Marysville 72-12 on Thursday. The Lady Tigers placed 4th with 156.5 points on Saturday in the Washburn Rural tournament. … The Tiger boys’ wrestling team defeated Marysville 61-8 on Thursday.

The Lady Panther basketball team defeated Valley Heights 56-49 on Thursday. The Lady Panthers defeated Clay Center 46-42 on Friday. … The Panther boys’ basketball team defeated Valley Heights 72-40 on Thursday.
