2 Truck Burglaries

Salina Police are investigating a couple of vehicle burglaries that could be related.

According to Lieutenant Jim Feldman, a Ford pickup on Plantation Drive and a GMC truck on Carolina Drive were opened and items from inside were taken from both vehicles during the same time frame.

Police say the owner of the Ford learned about the crime when his credit card company contacted him about his card being used at the Salina Wal-Mart on Thursday morning. The owner had left two financial cards in the truck along with a couple of laptop computers and tablet, plus Oakly sunglasses that were stolen as well. There was no sign of forced entry. Loss is listed at $2,405.

Police also report that just a few blocks away, a 2015 GMC pickup was burglarized sometime between 9pm Wednesday and Thursday morning around 6:30am. Police say a laptop computer and case was stolen as well as a Sony digital camera, a hot spot device, storage box and a power tool battery charger and two batteries. The truck was parked in the 2600 block of Carolina Drive. Loss is listed at $1,643.
