Winter Weather Advisory For Saturday

KSAL StaffNovember 14, 2014

A quick moving storm system is expected to move across the region on Saturday, bringing accumulating snowfall. Most areas could receive 2” to 4” of snow by Saturday evening.

Snow will begin early Saturday morning and persist through the day. The heaviest snowfall is likely between 5am and noon Saturday, tapering off through the afternoon.

Travel conditions are likely to become difficult with snow packed roads and reduced visibilities. Winds are forecast to switch to the northwest Saturday evening, and may cause the snow to blow over roads that have already been cleared. Wind chill values will also drop into the single digits by Sunday morning.

Light snow will again be possible early Sunday.

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect through most of the day Saturday for a large portion of the state including all of Central Kansas. A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when a significant winter storm or hazardous winter weather is occurring, imminent, and is an inconvenience.
