Students Headed Back To School

KSAL StaffAugust 11, 2014

It’s the last days of summer vacation for students in Salina.

In preparation of the new school year, school zone lights in Salina were activated last week, and teachers returned to the classroom. The annual Saline County Back to School Fair, where nearly 2,000 backpacks full of school supplies were distributed, was Friday.

While teachers are already back, students will soon join them with classes at all schools beginning either this week, or next week.

Students in USD 305 are the first to go back. Grade school students, 6th grade students, and 9th grade students begin on Tuesday of this week. All other students will join them on Wednesday.

Along with USD 305, classes also resume later this week at USD 306 Southeast of Saline on Thursday.

Classes begin next week at Ell Saline and at Salina Catholic schools.
