Stadium STAR Bonds District Approved

The Kansas City Chiefs are one step closer to moving to Kansas City, Kansas.

The Wyandotte County Commission voted yesterday to approve a STAR Bonds district for the Chiefs’ new stadium. The STAR Bonds District will allow Wyandotte County to collect sales and use taxes to fund the stadium and entertainment venue.

The Chiefs are planning to build a 65-thousand seat domed stadium at 126th and State Avenue that will open in 2031.
