KSAL StaffAugust 25, 2014

A loss and prevention officer is bumped into by a shoplifter’s car.

Salina Police responded to Kohl’s Department Store, 2580 S. 9th on Saturday morning around 11:35am after two females jumped into a Volkswagon with stolen clothing.

Police say the officer confronted the two inside the store when she allegedly saw them taking 11 clothing items without paying.

Once outside the females jumped into a 2013 Volkswagon Beetle – backed up and hit the officer’s right leg as she snapped photos of the car.

The suspects were later stopped by authorities in McPherson. Officers arrested 19-year-old Katie Schrag of Moundridge. A 17-year-old female was also a passenger in the car.

Police report that they found $338 worth of clothing from Kohl’s plus $53 in items allegedly stolen from JC Penney in Salina.
