A driver is hurt in a crash involving a school bus from the USD 306 Southeast of Saline school district.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Adam Gilbert of Roxbury suffered a compound fracture of his left leg, after the Callabresi Heating and Cooling truck he was driving struck the back end of a USD 306 bus.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 8:00 Friday morning near the corner of Magnolia and Holmes Roads. Troopers say that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Authorities say Gilbert was transported by EMS to the hospital. The school bus driver, 70-year-old Larry Spellman, wan not injured in the crash.
