Salina Woman in Crash Near Hays

One person is hurt in a crash near Hays early Friday morning involving a Salina woman.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2006 Chevy Cobalt driven by 22-year-old Hope Yeager of Ellinwood was headed west on Interstate 70. Yeager hit a deer carcass in the road, and sideswiped a semi.

The semi driver, 48-year-old Patricia Bussart from Salina, lost control and overturned in the median.

Yeager, who was not buckled up, was transported to the hospital in Hays. Bussart, who was buckled up, was not hurt.

The crash happened at 5:52 Friday morning in Ellis County, two miles east of Victoria on interstate 70.
