Salina Man’s Truck Hit By Car Fleeing Police

A Salina man was not hurt when his truck was hit by a car that was fleeing law enforcement.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a trooper was chasing a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero driven 21-year-old Jacob Craft of  Lawrence. The chase was headed west on Interstate 70.

The car hit two sets of stop sticks. Three tires deflated, causing the car to veer across the median and hit a semi that was headed east.

Craft, who was not buckled up, was hurt in the crash. He transported to the hospital in Hays.

The driver of the semi, 49-year-old David Thiggan of Salina, was not hurt. He was buckled up.

The crash happened at 1:54 Thursday afternoon, on I 70 in Ellis County, 8.5 miles east of Hays.
