Proposed Kansas Tyson Plant Paused

KSAL StaffNovember 21, 2017

A proposed poultry processing plant in Kansas is on hold. Tyson Foods announced yesterday it will move forward with plans to build a chicken processing plant in Tennessee.

Tyson officials say the company is still interested in expanding in Kansas and it will continue to consider potential sites in the state for a future plant.

Sedgwick, Cloud, and Montgomery counties were in the running for a new chicken processing plant after officials in Leavenworth County withdrew their support for the project.
