Pot Confiscated in I-70 Traffic Stop

KSAL StaffDecember 4, 2017

A stop on I-70 turns into a trip to the Saline County Jail for a man from Illinois.

Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander reports that on Sunday around 12:05am a deputy pulled over a Kia Rio traveling eastbound on I-70 near the Hedville Exit for driving in the passing lane with no other vehicles on the roadway.

The deputy then noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the rented vehicle.

A search of the trunk revealed 9.4 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale in a brown duffel bag.

Twenty-three-old Delon Dalton of South Holland, Ill., is now facing multiple charges that could include distribution of pot, no drug tax stamp and driving in the left hand lane.
