Salina Police are investigating a string of residential burglaries over the weekend.

Police report that someone walked into an unlocked garage in the 1400 block of Teton and removed a debit card and credit card from a pickup sometime between Saturday night around 8pm and Sunday morning at 7am.

During the same time frame police say someone forced open a door on a garage in the 2400 block of Pinnacle and stole a bicycle.

Thieves removed two Sunflower Bank checkbooks and and envelope filled with $4,800 cash from a garage in the 1400 block of Lakeview.

Officers found damage to a door knob on a garage in the 2500 block of Pinnacle, but entry was not gained.

Just before 8am on Sunday morning a homeowner in the 1300 block of Lakeview noticed the door on his garage was damaged and found a suspect in his garage – hiding behind the door before they ran away.

The man told police the person was of small stature and dressed in black.
