KSAL StaffNovember 6, 2014

Salina Police make three arrests after a patrol unit responds to a burglary in progress.

According to Captain Mike Sweeney, a concerned neighbor called police to report suspicious behavior in the 1200 block of North 7th around 2:15am Thursday morning.

A short time later an officer on patrol spotted a Chevy truck in the area and made a stop. Further investigation led to the discovery that the truck had been stolen in Great Bend.

Police arrested 34-year-old Larry J. Wray, Paul R. Bennett, 51, and 49-year-old Craig C. Darby all of Salina.

Police say the trio removed three TV’s from an unlocked garden shed and had them in the back of the truck. Police also found a lawn mower, baby toys and baby furniture in the truck that were stolen from the shed.

All three are facing burglary and theft charges. Craig is also facing drug charges after officers found him in possession of methamphetamine.
