Man Killed, Woman Hurt In Crash

KSAL StaffAugust 5, 2014

One person is killed and another is badly injured in a head on crash Monday afternoon in Riley County.

According to the The Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1994 Pontiac Firebird driven by 32-year-old Steven Farnsworth from Riley was headed south on U.S. 77 Highway. The car swerved left of center and collided head on with a 2003 Dodge pickup.

Farnsworth was killed in the crash. The pickup driver, 19-year-old Megan Ewell from Randolph, was hurt and was transported to KU Medical Center.

Troopers say that Farnsworth was not buckled up, while Ewell was.

The crash happened at 4:40 Monday afternoon two miles north of Randolph in Riley County.
