KSAL StaffFebruary 23, 2015

A Belleville man was killed, and two other people were hurt, in a single vehicle crash in Geary County Sunday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Ronald Stump Jr. of Belleville was driving a 2015 Chevy Malibu headed south on Laurel Canyon Road. For an unknown reason he drove off the end of the road where it came to a dead end.

The car rolled down an embankment and came to rest on its top.

Stump was killed in the crash. Two passengers were hurt. They are identified as 33-year-old Wesley Peters from Belleville and 26-year-old Kayleen Notter from Belleviile. Both were transported to Geary Community Hospital.

Troopers say that no one was buckled up.

The crash happened at 6:15 Sunday morning in the 7000 block of Laurel Canyon Road, 5.1 miles just north of K244 Highway in Geary County.
