A passionate advocate for the arts in Salina has passed away. Family and friends are mourning the passing of Sharon Benson.
Benson passed away Tuesday morning, following a long battle with cancer.
Benson was the Art Education Coordinator with Salina Arts and Humanities for the past 20 years. She had worked on 19 Smoky River Festivals.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
