Forgery Investigation

KSAL StaffSeptember 30, 2014

Salina Police have identified a suspect in a forgery case dating back to June.

According to Captain Mike Sweeney, police were contacted on Monday about a phony check that was cashed at the Dillon’s Grocery Store on E. Cloud on June 18th for the amount of $900.

Captain Sweeney tells KSAL News that the check had letterhead from a fictitious account known as, “Local 1000 United Food and Commercial Workers.”

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that the suspect may have used the scheme in other parts of Kansas.
