After a chilly, dry start to the New Year, the first inclement winter weather of 2015 is on the horizon.

According to the National Weather Service, a strong low pressure system is expected to lift across the area on Friday through Saturday night. A wintry mix of precipitation is expected to begin Friday night and eventually change to all snow by Saturday morning.

Locations generally between I-70 and the Kansas Turnpike will have the greatest chance to experience significant travel hazards from this storm.
