Fake Cash

More counterfeit bills pop up around Salina.

According to Sergeant James Feldman, a 62-year-old woman contacted police after her bank told her a $20 bill that she tried to deposit was a fake. The woman told officers she was given the counterfeit $20 in return for babysitting.

Police also report a Salina woman got a counterfeit $10 bill in change back from the Burger King on E. Iron on Monday afternoon.

Feldman tells KSAL News that when counterfeit bills are confiscated by law enforcement – they are then sent to the Secret Service for further investigation.
