Don Williams To Play Salina Again

KSAL StaffFebruary 17, 2015

A couple of years after playing a sold out show, a country music legend is coming back to Salina. Don Williams is coming to the Stiefel Theatre this spring.

According to the Stiefel, they came to call Don Williams “the Gentle Giant” in the decades he was a dominating country hit maker because of his unique blend of commanding presence and that laid-back, easy style. With hundreds of memorable songs in his repertoire- over fifty of them major hits- Williams can still fill an auditorium.

Don William’s music is the stuff of experience. This is a man who has lived life, who knows the depth of feeling and emotion ordinary people are capable of, not only in Texas, but in all the other places where his straightforward simplicity has made its mark the – Brazil, Britain, Ireland, Africa, Australia, Finland, Norway and many more. His latest album, Reflections, was released on Sugar Hill Records in March 2014

If anyone ever needed proof that music is an international language, then they need to look no further than Don Williams. He picks his songs with all the skills of a class winemaker picking grapes – only the best will do, and the vintage results, as fans around the world all know, is just about the best blend of emotions the heart could ask for.

Don Williams will perform at the Stiefel Theatre on Thursday, May 21st. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 27th. Tickets start at $35.
