Counterfeit money continues to surface in Salina.
Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney says that the latest businesses where counterfeit money has been used are at Family Dollar, and at the Mcdonald’s restaurant at 701 South Broadway. A $10 bill was passed at Family Dollar, and a $20 bill was used at McDonalds.
For nearly a month, counterfeit bills have been used to make purchases at multiple businesses around Salina. Sweeney says that in each instance the counterfeit bills do not have a security strip or watermark on them.
