Child Hurt In Crash On Slick Road

KSAL StaffNovember 15, 2014

A Salina child was injured in a single vehicle crash on a slick road early Saturday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 56-year-old Kerry Retter was driving a Ford F 250 pickup truck headed eastbound on Interstate 70. He lost control due to slick conditions. The truck entered the south ditch, rolling one time, and coming to rest on its top.

A passenger in the truck, 7-year-old Lindsey Aita, was hurt. She was transported to the hospital in Salina. Troopers say that she was buckled in a child safey seat.

No one else in the truck was hurt.

The crash happened at 8:51 Saturday morning, 3 miles east of Solomon on Interstate 70.
