Car Slams Into Tree; Woman Hurt

KSAL StaffFebruary 24, 2015

A woman was hurt in a single-vehicle crash in North Salina late Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at around 11:30, on East Ash Street, when a passenger car slammed into a tree in the front yard of a home.

Witnesses to the crash told KSAL News at the scene that the car was headed east on Ash Street. For an unknown reason the driver veered left of center, crossed the westbound lanes, jumped a curb, and hit a  tree. The car did not slow down before crashing head-on into the tree, in a yard at 603 E. Ash.

The driver, a pregnant female whose name was not immediately available at the scene, was hurt. She was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center.
