Candidate Wood Talks Salina

Interim City Manager Jacob Wood joined in on the KSAL Morning News Extra with a look at issues concerning Salina during his monthly scheduled visit to the radio station.

Wood is currently in the mix of the three remaining candidates who are vying for the top job in Salina and says he’s enjoyed the process. He also conveyed the ability for Salina to move ahead on planned and unplanned projects – like removing the log jam in the Smoky Hill River comes down to hard work and forethought.

Back in July the City signed a contract with Diehl Enterprises for the removal of sediment and tree debris, in an amount not to exceed $452,351. Work is set to begin soon and should be wrapped up in under six weeks.

The finalists for the City Manager position include Darrin Tangeman of Orleans, Massachusetts, Michael Tremblay of Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, and Jacob Wood of Salina. It is possible following interviews with the trio today, that Salina City Commissioners could make a hire as early as Tuesday, August 12th.
