Bloody Hand Leads to Arrest

KSAL StaffSeptember 10, 2014

A Salina man is treated at the hospital for multiple cuts on his hand and then arrested for breaking a window with his fist.

Police arrested 27-year-old Keith Schmidt on Wednesday, after he was treated at Salina Regional Health Center for three deep cuts on his hand.

Officers responded to a home in the 400 block of Inez for a medical emergency and found Schmidt there.

Police interviewed him about his injuries and determined he had smashed a 6-foot by 6-foot window on a building a 640 N. Santa Fe. Schmidt is facing a charge of damage to property.

The window is valued at $800.

Police say alcohol may have played a role in the incident.
